hoy es el dia de los madres!
today. hugs to all my moms out there! especially my sister who works really hard to take care of her baby juli. speaking of juli-boo, she had leaned to walk!! that little shit wont stay out of the garbage either! my dad put me on speaker phone today after he had to holler at her for getting in the trash and i said, "Juli-boo, that is groooooosss!" she started to laugh and then laughing turned into tears. she hates it when we disapprove of her fun. apparently she is also very good with her index finger. she will push buttons that she is not supposed to, be reprimanded, refrain, and resume. why is that so adorable??
I made chicken salad sandwiches for lunch. i put too much mayo in it. it' was okay, not the most shining moment in culinary history, but it was okay. we added dill pickles and called it "chickle-pickens".
Tiffany and i had a mini adventure today. and by adventure i mean i left the apartment. we went to emeryville and ate at Askew grill. Then had cookies at the tea cake bake shop. it was delish! then i had to find a magazine that del forte denim was in so i can scan it in tomorrow at my internship. the crappy part is it that it's a magazine i get a subscription to, so why don't i have it? lord knows! the issue i got last week in the mail was the March issue. so weird!
Speaking of weird. i had a crazy dream last night where i was part of this fashion design collection contest, and i was there with a few of my garments from this collection. the lady running it was 400lbs of king kong style bitch and happened to have the same name as my mother, vickie. my collection was kind of inspired by some of the stuff my mom wore when i was really really little, when she was really really skinny, so i called it "victoria" which is what my mother always joked was her fancy full name, but really she was vickie sue. so the giant scary woman running the competition thought i was kissing up to her by naming it after her and the pieces just so happened to be her favorite color, navy blue. she gave me a ride home and said that she liked my work in particular. she said, " you are winning points with me Hanson!". i was so scared. so the next day at the "workshop" one of the other designers put her outfit on the fit model and everyone made vomit faces, and i told her that she had too many colors going on and that it looked lost or misguided. i felt my critique was acurate because the girl was 14, and very inexperienced. she ran crying into the other room and i went after her and began to console her and then she looked at me with her big eyes and they kind of looked like this...
