finals are over!
its a celebration bitches!
it looks like I'm getting drunk tonight. come hell or high water. and after all the rain recently I'm honestly not sure which will come first. I'm hoping it's the drunk because rainy weather always put me in a foul mood.
So i "finished' the jacket. it's awful, but it's finished. if i were grading it i would give it a C-. it has buttons and button holes but the lining is atrocious. The suit jacket is obviously beyond my comprehension. but I'm okay with that because I'm not a seamstress and I'm not studying to be a pattern maker. the design was good and it was completely feasible, however it was poorly executed. I'm good at making other things like pants and skirts and dresses and shirts. there is just something about lined suit jackets that escapes me. Matt thinks I'm being to hard on myself, but we will see.
so my plans for this weekend...
sat: clean the house, do laundry, think of other things to do. start my summer sketch books.
sun: make my reading list and watching list. make a dress for baby juli. buy plane tickets. dinner and a movie with matt in celebration of his acceptance at UC Berkeley.
i'm really glad finals didn't take me out of the IMBC. they almost did on tuesday but i put my nose down and powered thru. my travels this summer might be what put me completely out but maybe not, because you can post to vox from your mobile phone. so we'll see, it could be an adventure in blogging.
topic of the day:
What's the most physically painful thing you've ever experienced?
i think that our concept of pain fades with time. I'm sure that my broken arm was the most painful, but i don't really remember too much about it. i know what i was doing and thinking before i broke it and that i had a Popeye sling and that i was very scared when they cut the cast off. but i was 18 months old. the two most recent event seem more painful to me than anything first was my surgery i had to remove an ovarian cyst. it was a laproscope procedure so they had to fill me up and move all my innards around. so the next day i felt like i had been beaten about the abdomen with a baseball bat, i could barely move. but i think the most painful thing i have ever experienced was 2 summers ago when i had both kidney stones and a hemorrhaging bladder infection at the same time. i was literally crying out in pain all night long. i had never been such a mess. hopefully it will never happen again.
